In Illinois, the license plates all started with three letters followed by four numbers. I recall driving in Chicago in the summer of 1988, and driving onto Lake Shore Drive, at Hollywood Boulevard, and then cruising southbound, towards the city sky. The traffic backed up at Oak Street beach and I noticed the license plate in front of me, which read: XTV 7769.

The 1988 Chicago Gay Pride Parade was the first live shoot for the incarnation that began that summer. The idea that is XTV.

In 1993 we moved from short movie production to broadcast television with Channel X Television: XTV on Channel 19 Chicago Public access.

In 1994 we were honored to be 1 of 5 nominees for Best New Cable Access Program.

In 1999 we purchased our own website at channelxtelevision.com, and have resided there ever since.
